Church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin (Gorodets)

24 Proletarskaya Square, Gorodets.

The Church of the Intercession was built in 1824 with support from parishioners in honour of victory in the War of 1812. Architect was I. Yefimov.

The brick cemetery church is a classical one-dome building with a small refectory featuring two side chapels dedicated to Our Lady of Kazan and All Saints. A bell tower has a spire.

The Church of the Intercession was closed in 1941 and used as a warehouse.

From 1984 to 1992, the Church was reconstructed.

On 16 May 1996, the Church of the Intercession was consecrated by Metropolitan Nikolai of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas.
