The Lviv Palace of Arts (the Palace, for short) was opened in 1996 to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the independence of Ukraine.
The Palace is a unique exhibition complex of 8,700 square metres (94,000 square feet); it is situated among architectural landmarks in the centre of Lviv.
The main purpose of the Palace is to organise activities related to exhibitions of various kinds: visual art, folk art, industry and advances in research, technology, and design.
The four-storey Palace contains 12 exhibition rooms of over 3,600 square metres (38,750 square feet) in total; the smallest room is of 50.2 square metres (540 square feet), while the largest one is of 795 square metres (8,550 square feet).
An equipped square in front of the Palace is provided for mass, open-air events. There is a conference room that seats 200, features a stage and is equipped for concerts, conferences and fashion shows.
Apart from exhibitions of works by various artists, the Palace also hosts industrial and business exhibitions.
